Team Edward

I now have two copies of Eclipse because I couldn't resist that Special Edition. (I hate how everything has a special edition. I hate, even more, that I feel like I have to have those "special" editions.) It has the first chapter of Breaking Dawn as well as two iron on transfers so that you can create your very own item in support of your favorite hero. One transfer says, "Team Jacob" and the other "Team Edward."

It was worth the purchase to get a taste of the new book. I am so excited. It's a little bit ridiculous but it's nice to have something to look forward to especially since Harry Potter's story is complete.

In one of my nerdier moments, I decided to use my iron on transfers. I felt like I was 8 years old. I was up until one in the morning trying to get it to work. I'm not sure if it was the type of fabric or the "steam advantage" iron but it just wasn't working like it should. I finally gave up so part of the transfer isn't completely on; the corner of the E just kinda hangs there. I still feel successful. It was my very first tee-shirt creation experience.

I now have my very own Team Edward tee-shirt.

Should I make one for Team Jacob?

Summer Reading

I've been reading a lot lately. I don't have time when I'm in school to read for fun and I forgot how enjoyable reading can be! I feel like I've been reunited with an old friend. I read Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte and loved it. Then I read Mother Tongue by Bill Bryson and loved that as well. My book club was reading an old favorite, Pride and Prejudice, and I devoured that in maybe two sittings. Stephenie Meyer's new book, The Host, came out so I had to read that. It was much better than I thought. I read the Twilight series again to get ready for the much anticipated Breaking Dawn and flew through them. I usually don't like books about aliens or vampires but there is something about Mrs. Meyer's stories. I like the way she thinks. It could just be that I'm a sucker for romance.

I'm just about finished with Emily Bronte's Wuthering Heights and need another book. Any suggestions? Please don't recommend anything sad. I don't think I can take it after this last one. Thanks!

Daybreak: The American Dream

Tyler and I had a wonderful day together yesterday. After a very relaxing morning, we went to IKEA to buy a dresser. We spent a couple of hours there perusing options for decorating. I had so much fun shopping at the only store that I can sanely stay in for hours upon hours and Tyler looked pained by boredom. Since we were already up north, we decided to go visit Shanda and Kensington. They live in a community in South Jordan called Daybreak. It is beautiful. In the course of our visit we discovered a few things about Daybreak that I really like:

1. Communal gardens where you rent a plot for a year
2. Parks every few blocks
3. A lake with canoes and fishing boats.
4. Air conditioning in all houses and units
5. A community center that has classes like Yoga and Mommy 'n' Me Music

I'm converted to the Daybreak way of life. I even love their ridiculous fake doors on a few porches. I'm trying to convince Tyler to move out there but it's a bit silly with our going to school and working down here in Utah County not to mention that we just bought a townhouse. Maybe in a few years. A girl can dream, right?
