Week 38

It's been a pretty good week. I went to my doctor appointment on Tuesday. No change. Baby is in a little bit lower position, but basically the same as last week. Everything still looks good. Well, almost. I tested positive for Group B Strep, so I'll have to have a round of antibiotics every four hours that I'm in labor. Blerg. I was hoping to not have to have an IV at all. Oh well. It'll still be alright.

I'm so excited! My mom bought a plane ticket so she'll be here when Peanut makes his debut. She's flying into town on Tuesday. I've been having some crazy dreams lately. The other night, I had a dream that my friend, Lorna and I were on a boat and our babies were in car seats at the back of the boat. I was at the front of the boat doing something and realized that Peanut wasn't with me so I went to get him. When I pulled him out of the carseat, he looked all girlie. That wasn't what bothered me though, what bothered me was that he had no neck! His shoulders and arms started right under his ears!!! I woke up so disturbed. I had to pull out his ultrasound picture to make sure he had a neck. He does. Phew!

I also had a dream last night that I was brushing my teeth and when I spit in my dream, I actually spit. Gross! It woke me up and I had to get a new pillow. At least I didn't have one of those bathroom dreams. That would have been worse.

My life is beautiful. I really think so. Not to say that we don't have problems, we do, but I still think that my life is absolutely beautiful!

Week 37

Here I am, 37 weeks pregnant:

Things are still going well! Although, I am extremely tired this week. We went to the Draper Temple Open House on Monday. It was so beautiful! Amazing. We did a lot of walking though, and not good paced walking but slow, almost stand-still walking. I slept on the way back to American Fork and Tyler and I went to eat at JCW's. I felt so sick. I went home and took a nap after that and felt a little better. Then Tuesday morning I was just exhausted. Then today, I still feel a little off. Maybe it was the ranch dressing I just consumed, but I feel like my stomach is going to empty itself. I think maybe I just tried to do too much this last week. Ashley and her boyfriend came over on Sunday night and helped us paint the guest room. (Tyler, Ashley, and Kendall painted the guestroom. I wandered around the house.) Next time we paint I'm going to have to leave the house entirely. That's when I started feeling sick - headache, stomachache, etc. But the guest room is all painted now! I'm so excited. Tyler's going to start on the nursery soon and then I get to take over with the decorating! I picked colors for the walls: Bavarian Cream and Bon Voyage. Our crib is supposed to be arriving any day now and thanks to Connie and Rob Anderson, we have bedding, a window valance, and a diaper stacker! I can't wait.

I had my doctor appointment yesterday. My li'l Peanut is in the head down position. He's a little lower than last week, but he still hasn't "dropped," as they say. I can't wait for that to happen! I'm so over this whole heartburn thing. His heartbeat was strong and beating at 142 beats per minute. I'm still dilated 1cm but I'm now 75% effaced. Woohoo for a little bit of change. Every little bit helps, right? I made Tyler take me to Kneaders after the appointment so I could have a ham and cheese sandwich with honey mustard, something I never EVER would have eaten before pregnancy. It was so good. Then we went to American Fork where Shanda and Tyler's mom threw me an awesome baby shower. Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures. But I thought I'd go into more detail about that when I write about the other baby shower.

I'm still a very happy whale.

I think Tyler's pretty happy too. I hope so anyways. He's already such a cute little daddy. He's been to all the prenatal and Lamaze classes with me. He's also reading a book called, "The Expectant Father" and reading another book with me about the Bradley Method of Husband Coached Childbirth. I'm so glad I have him. He is my calm. He's the reason this whale is as happy as she is.

Aren't we cute? I can't wait until Peanut's in the picture too. Just a few more weeks!!! Wish me luck.

36 Week Update

Well, I had my doctor appointment. Baby is still REALLY high in his position. The doctor could barely find his head. I'm not really surprised. The heartburn is driving me crazy. It also annoys me that I feel stuffed after eating two bites. We went to Tucanos today and I could barely finish a salad! SAD! Enough complaining, I'll go back to the appointment. I'm dilated 1cm and I'm 50% effaced. Everything still looks good so I'm happy. I'm a very happy whale.

We started our Lamaze class on Tuesday. It was so fun! My favorite part was when the teacher taught Tyler how to massage my hands and my feet. I got to lie there while they gave me a massage. Pretty great, huh? We've got lots of homework in the form of 6 videos, most of them birthing videos. I'm sure Tyler is just thrilled.

We've had quite an exciting week! We received a package from Toys R Us and it turned out to be the crib bedding and nursery decor we wanted! Connie and Rob Anderson bought it for us! They are so generous. I'm so excited to start getting the nursery together. Mom helped us out with a crib. Now we just need to paint and I can start decorating!! WOOHOO!!

Mom called me on Monday and asked what I was planning on having for dinner. I told her my pathetic plans of heating up soup and she said, "Well how 'bout Woody and I take you guys out for dinner?" They were in Vegas on their way to visit us! They brought me a surprise present too - A CAR! I now get to drive a Hyundai Sante Fe. I'm excited to have an escape route when cabin fever ails me. How sweet are they? We've had a lot of fun with them in town.
I've had an amazing week.

I feel so blessed.

Week 36

It's February 9th! Do you know what that means? The "guess date" of my first child's birthday is exactly one month from today. WHOA!!! Four weeks? Woohoo!
Here I am at 36 weeks:

I feel like a whale, but a very very happy whale. I don't have much to say today. Maybe I'll do another post this week with the update info my doctor gives me. My appointment is tomorrow. We start Lamaze classes tomorrow as well. I'm super excited for that. My mom is coming up so maybe I'll get pictures from the baby shower and post them too.

35 Weeks

A little over a month to go! I am thrilled! We got a travel system from my mom and Woody and I just can't wait until we actually get to use them. Tyler put the stroller together and it's sitting in our living room. I don't want to put it away. I like to see it there.

Tyler also installed the carseat in the Pilot. We drive around with it in the car. It looks so empty now and I can't wait until I get to have a little baby in there!

Here I am this week:

I look terrible. I only blow dry my hair for church and since we didn't go this week, I haven't done my hair all week. Oh well. I'm still feeling great. I had trouble sleeping the first part of the week. Saturday night was the worst. At about 3am, Tyler woke up and stayed up with me. He's such a great husband. We were up until about 6:30. We didn't make it to 9:00 church. Oops. It's getting better though. I'm less freaked out and more excited now. I'm not scared. I'm excited. I am SO excited.
I love prenatal Yoga. I love taking baths. I still love feeling baby move around. I love eating - especially burritos, fruit, salt and vinegar potato chips, broccoli, and the #4 from Burgers Supreme. I love reading birthing books with Tyler. I love that Tyler reads Dr. Seuss to baby.
We're pretty happy.

Ode to Alex the Corolla

Alex, My Corolla
With sadness I give you away
It's been a great four years
But for baby, we need to pay

You've been so good to me
On long trips and around Provo
You offered a place to sleep
When there was no time to go home

I will miss your fading paint
I will miss your air and heat
I will miss your smudged window taint
And your comfy backseat

***
So Tyler and I sold my car. We were blessed to sell it as quickly as we did. Woohoo for the internet! I was hoping that I could work longer but that didn't work out so we needed some funds to pay for my insurance and a few other baby things. I don't go anywhere that often by myself anymore anyways. I didn't think I'd miss my car as much as I do. It was just comforting to know that if I DID want to go anywhere, I could. Now I know that if I had a hankering to get out and do stuff, I'll have to coerce someone to take me.

It's really a good thing though and I'm excited for the life changing events that brought about this decision. I actually feel blessed that I was able to give up something I like for someone I love.
