Prestgard Family Reunion 2008

We left for Colorado on Wednesday, July 23rd for Tyler's family reunion. It started out a little rough when, just outside of Price, our tire blew.

Good thing the Prestgard boys know how to change a tire!

Ashley, Jenn, and I just had to sit back and wait.

We just drove back to Price and bought a couple of new tires at the WalMart there. It added a couple of hours to the trip and we didn't get to Tyler's Uncle Greg's house until midnight.

Thursday we went to the Olympic Training Center

Friday, Tyler, Brian, Kyle, Jenn, Eric, Ashley, and I went to the movies and to the mall while others went golfing or to the Air Force Academy.

We saw Wall-E, which was really cute and then had lunch and shopped at the mall. I thought it was hilarious that there was a K-Mart in the mall.

That night we had fun playing at Uncle Greg and Aunt Cindy's house.

Kensington liked to climb into the Princess stroller. She's such a funny little thing! And she's perfect doll-size!

Saturday, Jane, Cindy, Claire, Angelo, Kensington, and I went to Royal Gorge Canyon while everyone else went White Water Rafting!

We rode the train down into the gorge. They make you stand on these steep and tiny little steps to wait for it and then they cram you into these tiny little cage-like compartments. People moo-ed.

I got dizzy walking down these steps because of the water. It was really pretty though!

And here's the bridge. This was the scariest part of the trip for me. I thought we were going to die. The wooden boards look old and there are huge cracks where you can look down and see how incredibly high you are. Cars and buses drive alongside you as you walk making the bridge shake and sway. So scary. I was already sweating because of the heat and the adrenaline just made it worse. I did not wear the right outfit - jeans, 3/4 length black tee-shirt.

Once on the other side, the kids ate some ice cream and we relaxed in some rocking chairs. We also went over to the wild-life park and saw some animals.

We took the bus back across the bridge. I closed my eyes and prayed the whole time.

I ended up buying a cotton tee-shirt at the front shop and changing before the trip back home. I was so hot. It, of course, cooled off right before we left and started raining. There was even a really cool lighting storm.
The kids all slept on the way home.

That night we met up with the rafters at Greg and Cindy's and ate dinner and had the family auction. We all had a really great time.

After dinner (a fabulous dinner) Kyle let Grandpa cut his hair for 100 dollars.

Fourth of July

We spent Independence Day with Dad Walker, Sabrina, Dan, Choka, and the kids. We watched the fireworks from just outside the ASB on BYU's campus. We had a lot of fun and the fireworks this year were extra amazing. So, Happy Belated Independence Day!

Tyler and I both had siblings graduate from high school this year!! Aaron graduated from American Fork High School on May 29th and Sabrina graduated from Tehachapi High School on June 6th. (I have put off this post because I wanted to get more pictures from family, but it's been over a month and I still haven't been able to get them.)

Congratulations to these two!

My Mac and the Happenings of the Week

Sorry that there haven't been any new posts lately! I like to post from my personal computer so that I can add pictures and different little things but my computer is at the Mac Specialist. About three months ago, my battery died. Luckily it was covered under my AppleCare plan and I was able to get a new one for free! Then, just a couple of weeks ago, the new battery stopped working! So, they fixed it and now we need to go and pick it up. I'm very excited to get my computer back. I love that thing.

Saturday was really fun! Connie and Rob Anderson were in town and we were able to visit with them for a little bit. They are the best. It was great to hang out with them and with Scott and Carina and Dan, Choka, and their adorable children.

I wasn't feeling well and I crashed Saturday night as soon as we came home. I slept until 4pm Sunday. I felt SO much better after that. I guess I just needed to sleep the cold away! We went to Ma and Pa Prestgard's for dinner shortly after I woke up. Dinner was fantastic - BBQ, garlic mashed potatoes, green salad, corn, rolls, and watermelon. It was an ode to summertime. Kensington took me and Tyler to the park and we went down the slides together.




I was thrown off my sleeping schedule again with shifts from 3-7pm and then 8-midnight. On my break, from 7-8, Tyler and I got sandwiches at Hogi Yogi and then we met Dan, Choka, Zayaa, Danny, and Ariunaa at Sub Zero for ice cream (and Sub Zero has the best ice cream). It was a little family home evening activity! Zayaa and Danny always make us feel so good because they just scream, "TATA, TYLER" and run to us. Danny usually even hugs our legs. I feel so loved!

So there's a little chunk of our life.
